Gifford Lea Bridges Restaurant

Head Chef at Gifford Lea

Dominic Ash

My name is Dominic Ash, and I proudly serve as the Head Chef at Gifford Lea Retirement Village. With an impressive 27 years of experience in the culinary field, I bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise to my role. My culinary journey began with three years of training in France, followed by a decade of living and working in London. During my time there, I had the privilege of working in renowned kitchens such as The Savoy, Browns, Petrus, and Mon Plaisir.

During my tenure as a Pastry Chef for Marcus Wearing, I had the honour of contributing to his first Michelin star and achieving two AA Rosettes. As the youngest pastry chef at London's oldest restaurant, I proudly received the accolade of Best Small Plates in 2019.
My culinary philosophy revolves around crafting visually stunning plates of food, whether it be for simple or fine dining experiences. I am deeply passionate about utilising locally sourced produce wherever possible, and I consider Cheshire's abundance of high-quality ingredients a true blessing.

I had the opportunity to showcase my skills by conducting a Cooking Demonstration at the Wrexham Food Festival, where I delighted in sharing my passion with fellow food enthusiasts.

Even after nearly three decades, my enthusiasm and dedication to the culinary world continue to burn brightly. Whether I'm meticulously designing menus for our restaurant, baking delectable cakes for our bistro, or creating ideas for our next Themed Evening or Black-Tie Event, I pour my heart and soul into every endeavor.
