City Gate

The City Gate pub and hotel, a favourite with locals, is 10 minutes’ walk from Exeter St Davids station and five from the city centre. This newly-refurbished pub with 14 rooms is set in a listed redbrick former coaching inn and abuts the original Roman city walls, with views out on to the Iron Bridge, built in 1834. It reopened recently after extensive refurbishment and is open all day every day, offering everything from a pint of real ale to craft lager and cocktails, a relaxing brunch to a three course dinner – only sourcing the best produce for their seasonal British menu, and offering hearty dishes through the colder months.
