Inspired Villages is pleased to announce that Wealden District Council has approved its plans to deliver a new retirement community at Little Mount Lake, Frant.

The new community will deliver 146 specialist residential apartments and cottages with communal facilities accessible to the local area including a café, shop, and wellness centre (comprising a swimming pool, hairdressers, and a fitness suite). A clinical space will also be provided for the use of both village residents and the surrounding community.  

The scheme was developed in close consultation with local residents, businesses, and key stakeholders including the Rotherfield St Martin charity and Mayfield & Five Ashes Community Services group.
 

Phase 1

Wealden District Council’s Planning Committee approved the detailed designs for this first phase of development, giving the scheme reserved matters planning permission on 9th December.

Phase 1 will deliver 55 units of accommodation comprising: 24 apartments within the village centre; 30 apartments split between four blocks and 1 cottage.

Phases 2 and 3 will contain the remaining development and will be subject to detailed design in 2022 and 2023.
 

Timescales

Work is due to commence on the scheme in 2022 with Phase 1 completion due in 2025.

Little Mount Lake is located within the Parish of Frant, approximately 5 minutes drive from the village of Frant and around 10 minutes drive to the town of Tunbridge Wells, well known for its Georgian and Victorian architecture. Opposite our village is Nevill Golf Club, an 18-hole course founded in 1914.
