We believe it shouldn't be this way. Human connection is key to our wellbeing, which is why it's at the heart of everything we do at our retirement villages. Month in focus
Welcome to our July edition! June has been filled with memorable moments across our communities.
We kicked off with a Summer Garden Party at Millfield Green featuring TV chef John Torode. Guests enjoyed live music, a delicious BBQ, and a Q&A session with John.
Our new show home was launched at Ampfield Meadows with special guest Gloria Hunniford OBE. During Dementia Week, residents at Great Alne came together for a coffee morning to raise awareness and funds for dementia support. We also commemorated the 80th anniversary of D-Day, with Great Alne Park residents visiting Portsmouth Museum to meet veterans while many of our villages enjoyed al-fresco dining to celebrate.
Our community spirit shone at the Edgbaston Dragon Boat Festival, where Great Alne Park residents raced and raised funds for St. Basils Charity. Finally, Gifford Lea embraced the elegance of Royal Ascot with their very own Ladies Day, complete with stylish hats, Prosecco, and delightful pastries.
Loneliness Awareness Week
During Loneliness Awareness Week, our villages hosted various events to combat loneliness. Activities included a shopping event with the Hospice of the Good Shepherd, seated stretch classes, croquet, and a board game café, offering something for everyone. Ledian Gardens enjoyed a day filled with music, table tennis, and a heartwarming visit from children of Leeds and Broomfield Primary School, who brought joy with their singing.
