Hundreds of people flocked to Great Alne Park on Saturday 21st July for the inaugural PARKFEST.
The event gave lucky ticket winners FREE entry to the event, which included entertainment by 4 Poofs and a Piano, the famous house-band from BBC chat show ‘Friday Night with Jonathan Ross’, and the renowned Amadeus Symphony Orchestra, as well as the Warwickshire Youth Jazz Orchestra, who opened the festival to rapturous applause.
The exclusive event took place within the beautiful grounds of Great Alne Park. PARKFEST ran from 2pm to 8pm and was headlined by the 40-piece Amadeus Symphony Orchestra, which initiated an air of patriotism throughout the crowd, with waving Union Jack flags and a sing along to Jerusalem.
Other highlights included a lively and uplifting performance by 4 Poofs and a Piano, the famous house-band from the BBC chat show ‘Friday Night with Jonathan Ross’, who had the audience up out of their seats dancing to classics songs from the 70’s and 80’s, as well as a few medleys of their own, inspired by their time on the Jonathan Ross show. Other entertainment included a Barbershop Quartet, a magician, tours by fully costumed Bell Boys and Girls, as well as food and drink stalls from the region.
The event followed an official Open Day on Friday 20th July, where MP, Nadhim Zahawi officially ‘cut the ribbon’ for the Clubhouse opening and ‘VIP’s’ were invited to take in the impressive facilities for themselves. The Clubhouse now forms the epicentre of the village, complete with; spa, swimming pool and wellness centre, games room, bar, restaurant, library and even an art-deco themed, in-house cinema. The day also included extensive tours of the village and its cottages and apartments.
