Inspired roundtable on the importance of intergenerational living

Inspired Villages ran a roundtable discussion on what community means today and the importance of intergenerational living with a particular focus on the Warwick Gates area around its retirement village Austin Heath.

The panel included:

  • James Cobb – Director, Inspired Villages
  • Cllr Richard Edgington – Mayor of Warwick
  • Cassie Shirley – Assistant Headteacher at Heathcote Primary School
  • Steve Barton – Senior Sales Manager at David Wilson Homes
     
  • Chair: Ploy Radford – Communications Manager, Inspired Villages

Panellists discussed the lack of suitable age appropriate housing and the knock-on effect this has for young people getting on the housing ladder, the importance of community and benefits this has to everyone of all ages in the local area and on wellbeing.

The webinar also covered why intergenerational living is the way forward and how the pandemic has highlighted the benefits of intergenerational living and importance of community.
